In covenant with The Protestant Reformation’s enduring legacy centers upon the doctrines of the “solas.” The Reformers believed and taught these five truths and they remain indispensible to the health of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the growth of the church.  Why? It is because these five tenants did not originate with the Reformers of the Reformation. On the contrary, the Reformers rediscovered truth God had given and which had long been buried by the church. Therefore, the “solas” are to be continually studied, embraced, taught, and defended as God’s eternal truth in a fallen, temporal, and worldly culture. 
the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, whose purpose is to call the Church amidst a dying culture to repent of its worldliness, to recover and confess the truth of God’s Word as did the Reformers, and to see that truth embodied in doctrine, worship, and life, the Northeast Indiana Reformation Society (NEIRS) is committed to the inerrant Word of God in principle, and to the solas in particular.
The Northeast Indiana Reformation Society originated with the goal of communicating God’s biblical truth, which Reformed Theology clearly reveals. As an affiliated ministry of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, its purpose is to promote opportunities for evangelical pastors and lay leaders to periodically meet, as each labor for the sake of the gospel of grace in their local churches. The society seeks to encourage, embolden, and equip pastors and other church leaders for the preaching, teaching, and relying upon the gospel as the particular means given by the Triune God for the building of Christ’s Church.
 The NEIRS’s founding members are Pastor Dave Dupee (Providence Presbyterian Church PCA), Pastor Scott Qualls (North Park Community Church),  Pastor Thomas Clothier (First Christian Church/Kendallville - Non-Denominational), and Mr. Mark Mellinger (WANE-TV News Channel 15).  The society decided to begin bi-monthly meetings in 2009 to examine the essential “sola’s”. The 2009 schedule is as follows:
• Thursday,  February 26 – Sola Scriptura.
• Thursday,  April 16 – Solus Christus.
• Thursday,  June 18 – Sola Gratia.
• Thursday,  August 20 – Sola Fide.
• Thursday,  October 15 – Soli Deo Gloria.
 A brief description of each “sola” is appropriate.  In April 1996, the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals held its first major meeting of evangelical scholars. The Cambridge Declaration, first presented at this meeting, is a call to the evangelical church to turn away from the worldly methods it has come to embrace and to recover the Biblical doctrines of the Reformation. The Cambridge Declaration explains the importance of regaining adherence to the five "solas" of the Reformation.
