Our speaker is Chris Hodges, Pastor of Church of the Highlands meeting at MBHS.
Meet Chris Hodges
In 1984 at the age of 21, Chris Hodges began his ministry as Youth Pastor with Pastor Larry Stockstill of Bethany World Prayer Center near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was there, two years later, that he met and married his wife Tammy, the daughter of pastor and missionary, Billy Hornsby.
In 1987, Chris and Tammy moved to Colorado Springs to work with New Life Church, a new church planted by his former youth pastor Ted Haggard. During the seven years they were there, Chris served as Youth Pastor and Senior Associate Pastor and experienced a modern day city transformation as New Life Church grew from 400 to over 5000 people.
Then in 1994, Chris and Tammy returned to Baton Rouge with their three children (Sarah, Michael, and David) to be Associate Pastor at Bethany World Prayer Center. Pastor Chris has had a major influence in the Baton Rouge area as a District Cell Group Pastor, worship leader, and co-host of Lifeline, a daily television program. He also trains churches nationally through cell church seminars.
Now after 17 years of ministry and two more children (Jonathan and Joseph), Chris has fulfilled the dream of his life, planting a new church called Church of the Highlands (www.churchofthehighlands.com ) in the Birmingham area. With a daily diet of Bible study, prayer, long talks with close friends, lots of laughter, and special times with his family, Pastor Chris is pressing toward the goal of providing a place where people can connect with others and God for a life-changing experience.
