Christian Management Report
April 2003 Issue (Vol. 27, No. 2)
Focus: Globalization

"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves."
-Proverb 29:18 The Message

In this issue we consider globalization and how it affects us all. For America, becoming a melting pot is less true today because there's a deeper desire to retain, even celebrate, differences. Our workforce is changing, becoming more multi-cultural, so we're no longer leading people who are just like us. This requires a new, more intentional kind of leadership that gives a lot of attention to communications and seeks to build trust with the staff. ¦ Jim Cymbala says the Lord has a plan for our lives and ministries. It's a detailed plan that goes beyond one's natural ability to perceive it. If we want to know God's blessing on our ministry, then we've got to carry out our ministries at the center of God's will. His will is not determined by our human wisdom or ingenuity, but by earnestly seeking the Lord daily for insight into his purpose and will. ¦ Happy reading and learning.  -DeWayne Herbrandson, executive editor

Note: Unless stated otherwise, the Bible translation used throughout is the New International Version (NIV).
