Pastor Greg's Message for May, 2008
August 15, 2008 will mark the end of my 14th year of ministry as your pastor here at Edgebrook Covenant Church. Like most folk, I marvel at how quickly the time has passed and how faithful God has been to me, my family and to our church family during these years. I now have enjoyed the longest tenure of any pastor at Edgebrook Covenant Church, having exceeded the years of ministry of beloved pastors Robert Liljegren and Clifford Bjorklund (both of these saints served 13 years here). You have graciously encouraged me to go on a sabbatical this year.

Edgebrook Covenant Church provides Sunday School classes for all our children — ages toddler through eighth grade, on Sunday mornings after worship in our classrooms.

Become a prayer warrior! The Diaconate especially welcomes your prayers for our many ministries this coming school year. Some suggestions for prayer are: - Pray alone in personal devotions. And/or pray when you’re waiting at a stoplight…or in the grocery store line…while you are commuting to/from work…or when the kids are sleeping…or you are working out. Use the centering prayer we learned in our Lenten services…or shoot “arrow” prayers heavenward whenever and wherever God reminds you.

The most important thing we have to offer is an invitation to experience new life in Christ. In the Bible we learn that God gives new life to any person who trusts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. A trusting personal relationship with Jesus is all that is needed to be a Christian. We invite you to read the following article, ” How to Become a Christian,” by Covenant Pastor Wesley W. Nelson.
