Adultery:

1 Corinthians 6:11: And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Exodus 20:14: You shall not commit adultery.

Galatians 5:19: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

Mark 10:19: You know the commandments: `Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'

Matthew 15:19: For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Matthew 5:27-28:  You have heard that it was said, `Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Proverbs 6:24-28: Keeping you from the immoral woman, from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife. Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes, for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?

Psalms 32:5: Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’-- and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

Affliction, Adversity, Trials, Suffering:

2 Corinthians 1:4-5: Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

James 1:2-4: Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Matthew 10:29: Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

Nahum 1:7: The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,

Philippians 1:19: for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.

Proverbs 3:11: My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke,

Psalms 71:20: Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.

Romans 12:12: Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

Romans 5:3: Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;

Alcoholism, Drug Abuse, Substance Abuse:

1 Corinthians 5:11: But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

1 Corinthians 6:9: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders

1 Corinthians 6:10-19: Nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. ‘Everything is permissible for me’--but not everything is beneficial. ‘Everything is permissible for me’--but I will not be mastered by anything. ‘Food for the stomach and the stomach for food’--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh.’ But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

2 Peter 2:19: They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity--for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.

Ephesians 5:17-18: Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:19-21: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Luke 21:34:  Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.

Philippians 4:13: I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Proverbs 20:1: Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise.

Proverbs 23:20: Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat.

Romans 14:21: It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.

Anger, Harshness, Bad Temper:

1 Corinthians 13:4-5: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Colossians 3:8: But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

Ephesians 4:26: ‘In your anger do not sin’ : Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Ephesians 4:31: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Galatians 5:19-25: The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

James 1:20: for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

Proverbs 15:1: A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Proverbs 15:18: A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.

Proverbs 22:24: Do not make friends with a hot-tempered man, do not associate with one easily angered,

Proverbs 4:17: They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.

Anxiety, Fretting, Worry:

1 Peter 5:6-7: Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

2 Corinthians 4:9: (You are) persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Luke 21:34:  Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap.

Matthew 6:25-34: Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?  And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Philippians 4:19: And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalms 37:7: Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Psalms 46:3: though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Assurance:

1 John 4:18: There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 5:13: I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

2 Peter 1:10-11: Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 1:12: That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.

Ephesians 3:12: In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

Hebrews 10:22: let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 6:11: We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.

Hebrews 6:19: We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,

Isaiah 12:2: Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation.

Psalms 4:3: Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to him.

Psalms 42:11: Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.

Romans 8:38-39: For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Atheism, Agnosticism, Unbelief:

1 Corinthians 2:14: The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Peter 2:7-8: Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe, ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone, ‘ and, ‘A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall.’ They stumble because they disobey the message--which is also what they were destined for.

Hebrews 11:6: And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Job 12:7-9:  But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?

John 12:47-48:  As for the person who hears my words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; that very word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day.

Proverbs 8:17: I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Psalms 10:4: In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

Psalms 53:1: The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.

Romans 1:18-20: The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Bitterness, Hatred, Contempt, Resentment:

1 John 2:9: Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother is still in the darkness.

1 John 4:20: If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.

Ephesians 4:31: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Hebrews 12:15: See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.

Leviticus 19:17: "`Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.

Matthew 6:15: But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Proverbs 26:24-26: A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but in his heart he harbors deceit. His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly. Though his speech is charming, do not believe him, for seven abominations fill his heart.

Blaming, Personal Responsibility:

1 Corinthians 3:13: his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.

1 Corinthians 3:8: The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.

Ezekiel 18:20: The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged aga

Ezekiel 18:30: "Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.

Genesis 3:12: The man said, "The woman you put here with me--she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

John 15:22: He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father.

John 9:41: Jesus said, ‘If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.’

Matthew 12:37: For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Matthew 7:1: Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, `Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Proverbs 19:3: A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.

Revelation 2:23: I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.

Children, A Blessing:

Acts 16:31: They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household."

Acts 2:39: The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Isaiah 44:3: For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

Isaiah 54:1: "Sing, O barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband," says the LORD.

Isaiah 54:2-11: "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. "Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. For your Maker is your husband-- the LORD Almighty is his name-- the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. The LORD will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit-- a wife who married young, only to be rejected," says your God. "For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you," says the LORD your Redeemer. "To me this is like the days of Noah, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again. Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. “O afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will build you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with sapphires.

Luke 18:16: But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Proverbs 17:6: Children's children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.

Psalms 127:3-5: Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

Psalms 8:2: From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

Children's Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Timothy 4:12: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

2 Timothy 2:22: Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Colossians 3:20: Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Deuteronomy 5:16: "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Ephesians 6:1-3: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise--"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

Leviticus 19:3: "`Each of you must respect his mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.

Proverbs 23:22: Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.

Proverbs 5:2: that you may maintain discretion and your lips may preserve knowledge.

Comfort:

1 Corinthians 8:9-12: Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak. For if anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple, won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols? So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

1 John 3:20-21: whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

1 Peter 2:19: For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.

1 Timothy 3:9: They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

2 Corinthians 1:4: For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Acts 24:16: So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.

Hebrews 9:14: How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

Job 27:6: I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.

John 16:33: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Luke 11:33-36: "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Psalms 18:2: The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalms 46:1: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

Psalms 9:9: The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Romans 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:31: What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Contentment, Happiness:

1 Timothy 6:6: But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Hebrews 13:5: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Luke 12:15: Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

Philippians 4:11-12: I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

Proverbs 16:8: Better a little with righteousness than much gain with injustice.

Proverbs 17:22: A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Proverbs 30:8: Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.

Correction, God's Discipline, Chastisement:

1 Chronicles 28:9: "And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; b

1 Corinthians 11:32: When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

1 Corinthians 15:55: "Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"

Exodus 34:24: I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the LORD your God.

Hebrews 12:5-9: And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!

Isaiah 26:16: LORD, they came to you in their distress; when you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer.

James 1:14-15: but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Jeremiah 30:14: All your allies have forgotten you; they care nothing for you. I have struck you as an enemy would and punished you as would the cruel, because your guilt is so great and your sins so many.

Job 5:17-18: "Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.

John 3:15: that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

John 8:51: I tell you the truth, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death."

Depression, Despondency:

1 Peter 1:13: Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9: We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Genesis 4:6: Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?

Divorce:

1 Corinthians 7:10-17: To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife? Nevertheless, each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.

Colossians 2:13-14: When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

Luke 16:18: "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Malachi 2:14-15: You ask, "Why?" It is because the LORD is acting as the witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant. Has not [the LORD] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.

Matthew 12:31: And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

Matthew 19:9: I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."

Matthew 5:31-32: "It has been said, `Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

Romans 12:18: If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Romans 7:1: Do you not know, brothers--for I am speaking to men who know the law--that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives? For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. So then, if she marries another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress, even though she marries another man.

Eating Disorders, Anorexia, Bulimia, Glut:

1 Corinthians 10:13: No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

1 Corinthians 6:9-17: Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

"Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything. "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:14: And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

2 Corinthians 1:1-7: Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ecclesiastes 10:17: Blessed are you, O land whose king is of noble birth and whose princes eat at a proper time-- for strength and not for drunkenness.

Matthew 6:25-34: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Philippians 3:19: Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things.

Proverbs 23:21: for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.

Psalms 132:15: I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy with food.

Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.

Envy and Jealousy:

1 Corinthians 13:4: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

1 Corinthians 3:3: You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?

Ecclesiastes 4:4: And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man's envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

James 3:14: But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

James 3:15: Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.

James 3:16: For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

Proverbs 23:17: Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the LORD.

Proverbs 24:1: Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;

Proverbs 27:4: Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming, but who can stand before jealousy?

Proverbs 3:31: Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways,

Proverbs 6:33-34: Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away; for jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

Romans 13:13: Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.

Fear:

2 Timothy 1:7: For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Isaiah 14:3: On the day the LORD gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage,

Mark 4:40: He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

Matthew 10:28-30: Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Proverbs 3:24: when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Psalms 27:1: The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?

Finances, Money, Fiscal Responsibility:

1 John 3:17: If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

1 Timothy 6:9-10: People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

Luke 12:15: Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

Matthew 22:21: "Caesar's," they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

Matthew 6:20-21: But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:33: But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Forgiveness of Each Other:

1 Peter 3:9: Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.

Colossians 3:13: Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Luke 6:38: Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Mark 11:25: And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. "

Matthew 6:14: For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

Proverbs 19:11: A man's wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.

Proverbs 20:22: Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.

Forgiveness of Sin:

1 John 1:7-9: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Colossians 2:13: When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins,

Ephesians 1:7: In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace

Ephesians 1:8: that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.

John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Matthew 11:28-29: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Gossip:

1 Timothy 5:13: Besides, they get into the habit of being idle and going about from house to house. And not only do they become idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying things they ought not to.

Exodus 20:16: "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

Exodus 23:1: "Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness.

Leviticus 19:16: "`Do not go about spreading slander among your people. "`Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life. I am the LORD.

Proverbs 11:13: A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

Proverbs 16:28: A perverse man stirs up dissension, and a gossip separates close friends.

Proverbs 18:8: The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts.

Proverbs 20:19: A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid a man who talks too much.

Proverbs 25:23: As a north wind brings rain, so a sly tongue brings angry looks.

Psalms 34:13: keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.

Psalms 52:2: Your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor, you who practice deceit.

Greed:

1 Corinthians 5:11: But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.

1 John 2:15: Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Timothy 3:2: Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

2 Timothy 3:2: People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

Colossians 3:5: Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Matthew 16:26: What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?

Titus 1:7: Since an overseer is entrusted with God's work, he must be blameless--not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.
